Yaya Rukayadi's Site

I am Yaya Rukayadi, a male, a Sundanese (an Indonesian race from West Java) Indonesia. I was born at Sumedang in August 17. I am youngest from 7 siblings, two brothers and four sisters. I am a microbiologist (Ph.D in Microbiology). I am an excellent problem-solving, organizing, researching and analytical skill. I am also an independent person, reliable, and self motivated.

When I was graduate student and during my postdoctoral training, I often attended workshops, trainings, and courses related to microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry and computer programs. Thus, I am very excellent at many methods of microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, phytochemistry, and computer programs. I also skillful to operate many kinds of instruments for analyzing related to its. I have invited by many universities or institutes for giving lecturer as well as an invited speaker in some national or international conferences or symposiums.

I have various hobbies that one of those is writing and reading literature. I like to write some fictional short story and poetry. So far I have published six short stories (the title: Between Two Men, Suffered People in Korea, After Mother Passed Away, Together in Bangkok, Professor Leveau, and Mungunghwa the Last Train) in the “Mangle magazine”, a Sundanese (an Indonesian dialect) popular magazine and wrote 38 poetries. Other activity beside research, since April 2002 to present, I am a presenter in KBS World Radio in the weekly program, breath of Korean live, a program for introducing Korea to ASEAN countries.

I think, beside I have excellent academic achievement, I am a sensible person, gets along well with my colleagues and friends, always ready to help others, and good in international social intercourse. My experiences with the international community have helped me to be an open-minded person.

•Human- and plant-associated microorganisms (using conventional and biology molecular approaches): ecology, genetic diversity, functional role, human-microbe interaction and plant-microbe interaction.
